1. Why Patches Need Different Digitizing Than Regular Embroidery
Embroidered patches are fundamentally different from regular garment embroidery. When you embroider directly onto a shirt, the garment supports the design — the fabric carries some of the weight and structure. But a patch is a standalone item. It needs to be its own complete, self-supporting textile. This means patch digitizing requires much denser stitching than regular embroidery. The stitches need to cover 100% of the background fabric — no gaps, no thin spots. The underlay needs to be extra robust to create a rigid foundation. And the borders need to be strong enough to prevent fraying even after years of use. We program every patch file with these requirements in mind, creating dense, durable designs that look sharp and last forever.
